I almost missed this but today, January 15th is International Fetish Day. The day has been celebrated on the third Friday in January since 2009. The purpose of the day is to increase awareness and support of the fetish community. It is also designed to encourage members of the community to be more open about their sexuality.
The day has its origins in Great Britain as a protest to some laws that were being proposed or had passed in Parliament. It started out as "National Fetish Day" in 2008 until it took on an international flavor the following year. On the day, members of the community would wear something purple as a sign they were members and the slogan "Perverts wear purple" became quite popular.
I hope to write more about the fetish community and our own experience with some of it years ago. It led to meeting some very, very nice people and really helped us embrace a more fulfilling Female Led lifestyle.
I suppose you could call the love of panties a fetish and maybe in my case it began in that way but over time was just part of my everyday attire and something associated with my femininity. So I thought it would be apropos to feature a couple pairs of pretty purple panties, the first of which is an identical image of a pair I owned many years ago...
You might ask why I don't still have them. When Diane decided that my panty-wearing regimen would be limited to pinks and other soft pastels, the purple panties were purged along with some other rather lovely but dark pieces of lingerie. And yes, of course I miss them!
I'm thinking of asking Her for permission to buy something in more of a lilac shade of purple to wear next International Fetish Day in 2027. Something instead of my everyday pink!
